It seems recently these days that all Disney is trying to do is bost short-term profits or is trying to gear something towards thrills or Mickey-fying something at EPCOT Center. It has its own identity. All things need are some updates.
Take into account the 1983 attraction Horizons, shown here on the left. It combined all the elements of EPCOT Center into one climactic ride showcasing all the other discussed elements in the not-to-distant future. Not to mention it was one of the most highly complex rides ever showcased by Disney, combining IMAX movies, AA's (Audio-Animatronics), other non-IMAX movies, scents, and other etc. to create an immersing experience.
Then, Disney uprooted it with a CAT bulldozer. In its place came the thrill ride, Mission:SPACE, where you get spun around in a circle inside a closed space until you puke.
No message left behind.
No guest left touched.
Nothing of value.
And yet, Disney doesn't seem to notice.
Besides, most of the future showcased in Horizons never came to fruition. So, what is the real reason behind the closing.
Teens, dumb normal guests, and the Mouse Executives.
What can be learned from a Beatles piece here comes from "The End" off Abbey Road. "And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make." Although it doesn't sound like anything that has to do with anything, think about it.
The love is the attraction that touched so many people.
The love you take means a taking away and making a change to it.
The equal to the love you make part means that people can have a new experience from an attraction that touched so many people. That's all Horizons, neigh EPCOT Center, needs and needed.
